Blake goes to a book signing!

A good friend of mine and fellow kika lover had a book launch party last week and it was so much fun to see how far she has come. She is my social media guru and for many others too. Pick up her book on Amazon which is called "Six Word Lessons for Successful Social Media". I highly recommend it!

Anyway, I thought I would try something new this night which was wearing Blake in Imperial. It is a unique piece that you can wear forwards or backwards. I never took off my coat that evening so no one got to see the cool back on the piece. However, I got lots of compliments on the necklace, color of Blake and my jacket too. I guess the outfit was a hit! What do you think?

 I wore a camisole shaper under Blake but I was still a little body conscious wearing this outfit without a coat to cover my butt and tummy. I am sure I looked fine but it is a little tighter than I am using to wearing. I think I would go up a size in Blake just so I can have a bit more coverage for my comfort level. I just kept tugging at the elastic at the bottom of this piece. Maybe I just need more practice wearing it!

Penny & Charlotte

Penny continues to be a best seller of mine! Almost every time I wear it ... I sell one! It has the cool distressed leather look but it is organic cotton and spandex french terry. It feels like you are wearing your most comfortable bath robe but it looks a lot more stylish!

I added a new piece from our Spring Collection ... Charlotte in a limited edition print called Meadow. Actually, all our prints are limited edition because they are reclaimed pieces of fabric. Once we sell out then they are GONE! I love this print because it has such great colors plus the size of the print can minimize some troubled areas ... like my tummy. :) Of course, Charlotte also comes in 12 solid colors too. 

Also, if you liked last season's Leah then you will love Charlotte. It is almost the same item with the addition of a few pleats on the right side of the garment so it is more flattering along the tummy.

Pippa & Penny

I have got to get back in the habit of taking photos of my awesome outfits! Ok, maybe I am the only one who thinks they are awesome but still I need to show you how the new spring items look. I had a really nice outfit on the other day and I couldn't bring myself to take a photo at the end of the day. I was too tired and lacked energy. I promise to try to do better! 

So, Pippa is one of my favorite pieces in our Spring line! It is the striped shirt that I am wearing. It also comes in solid colors too but I love the reclaimed fabric that kikaPaprika used in this piece. They buy fabric that would have otherwise gone into the land fills because designers don't want cheap knock-offs made. Our company makes special arrangements to buy the leftover yardage and remakes them into a beautiful piece from kikaPaprika! What do you think?

The stripe material is a bit see through. I am wearing a black shaper cami under but next time I will wear a nude colored one.

Another way to appear skinnier ... Try COLUMN DRESSING. Check out these photos. I used a navy tank top and navy jeans to create the "column". I then added the "Penny" jacket in Mineral (looks like a distressed leather jacket but it's as comfortable as your PJ's!) on top of my "column". The eye sees one long SLIM unbroken line making you appear taller and thinner.

I put on a "column" under my jacket. That just means the same color on top and on bottom. I used a navy tank and navy jeans in this case with "Penny" in Mineral over it. See how skinny it makes me look?

Here is "Penny" buttoned in the front. I carry my weight in my belly so I look wider when have it buttoned.

Here is my bunco outfit with my dyed to match shoes. Just kidding but they are really the perfect match to the jacket. I am wearing Penny in Mineral and this jacket is one of my favorites. This is also the first time I put on Erin in Winter White. I don't normally like turtlenecks but this one is fabulous! The neck is soft and comfortable and doesn't feel like it is choking me.
