kika on Vacation (part 2)

I have much more amazing photos of Yellowstone but you have to be friends with me on Facebook to see those photos. It really is a destination that should be on everyone's list and if you have been there as a kid and haven't been since ... just go already! The whole park is amazing so I joined the Yellowstone Association which was just a small way we can all help support a beautiful national park. Ok, ok, I will share just one photo!

* Actually, I don't know what this tank is called but it is cut like the Drew but the fabric is different. It came in one of my kika favs bags so it is an item from a previous season that sometimes get dyed into our current season's colors. So, because I don't know exactly what it is called ... we will call it Drew for now!

Sorry I am so behind on my blog posts. I am going to try to catch up today! Things have been so busy lately that I barely have enough time to snap some photos of me wearing kika. I think you folks should start sending me photos of YOU wearing kika. ;) 

I recently got Shannon in a size that works for me but it is still a bit snug in the chest area. It is one of my difficult places to fit on me. I don't think my boobs are THAT big but my rib cage is just wide. It works because the fabric in the back is stretchy. I want to love this piece, I do! Anyway, I threw it on over my Twill Capris that I do LOVE and really like the combo!

 Anyway, a few weeks ago it was Earth Day (April 22nd, 2013) and we had a special on Lily so I thought I would try it on and see if I could make it work for me. It just doesn't do it for me at all but I tried! If I left it untied in the front it was just too long and didn't look good at all. Maybe I should have saved those photos? I also didn't like it with Shannon under it so I swapped out my shirt for Paige which I liked a lot better. I much prefer the Kelly for me as I am just too petite or short waisted for this piece. What do you think?

Here comes Camille!

I got a ton of new summer items the other day and I just now had time to try everything on. Oh boy! There are some definite favorites in the batch that I got and the good news is that most of them fit me! 

Now, one of the items that I saw at Runway in January .... I wasn't too sure about. I don't think they had it in a size that I could try on either. However, I am so happy that the skirt that I got fits and I love that it has an elastic waistband in the back! I personally have a hard time getting Brit to fit me because there is no stretch to it and I am kind of between sizes in that style. Camille s a wonderful, lightweight twill material that is perfect for the summer. I also love the pockets too. It might be a tad short on some people but for me it is just right. 

I didn't have a lot of time to put an outfit together so I just grabbed a shirt I was wearing and tucked it in so you can see the waistband. The background of the skirt is Navy/Ink so that meant Paige was just about my only option. One of these days I will get Drew in every color so I can just have a layering tank for every occasion.

Milly, Paige & Wavy Stripe Scarf

Today it was back to some chilly weather so I had to re-work my outfit planned for today. I grabbed one of my favorite scarves this season which is the Wavy Stripe scarf. I have worn it with Eggplant from last season but now that I have seen the new summer color Iris ... it will be great paired with that color purple too. Now, I have to say that I would prefer to go down one more size in Milly because I am so petite. I should also be wearing heels to give me some more height because the jacket is so long. Oh well! Also, I was going to a moms networking meeting today so I just wore my jeans with this outfit. What do you think?

Portia in Meadow

I am so ready for spring! All we have right now in the Seattle area is gray and rainy days. Isn't it time for a vacation to somewhere warm and tropical? I wish! Well, I decided it was time to wear one of my favorite pieces from the spring line ... Portia! It is a convertible dress that you can wear as a skirt or as a strapless dress. You can also fold the top down in different ways to change the length too. I need to fold it a few times to make it short enough for me as a skirt. 

Portia comes in two prints and this one is called Meadow. There is another print called Ikat and it is brown and white. Plus, this piece comes in 12 of our solid colors too!

I paired Portia in Meadow with Paige in Turq which was a color from last season. "Ocean" is this seasons new "Turq" and would have been a perfect match. I also wore my brown boots since it is still cold and rainy here.

I also needed a jacket and I didn't have anything in kikaPaprika that matched and was warm enough. This was an old brown corduroy jacket that I found that did the trick.

I wore this scarf out three times this week and got compliments every single time. Basically, I just put a different shirt under the scarf and tied it into a vest for a different look.

I wore this outfit out networking today. It is cool because this looks like a dress but it is actually separates! Plus, the top is probably 2 years old and it is still the same black as the skirt which is new!

Paige in Bordeaux

These photos were originally taken on Aug 3, 2012 and my camera was dying so the quality is pretty poor. I took better photos later which helped out a lot. I lived in this shirt most of the summer! It was lightweight and comfortable and just really easy to wear.
