Discounts on Products I Love

Well, it has been several months since I wrote a blog post here. I decided last summer that kika's business model changed too much to make it work for me so I put it on hold and only took online orders. That resulted in one order for a scarf. It was not a surprise when they shut down my account in February but it was a surprise that they did it without an email or a phone call. Oh well. I have moved on and the only thing left is to clear out my remaining inventory of clothes.

What am I doing now? I am a travel agent with Anywhere But Here Travel and I am loving it. You can find me on Facebook and it really is what you will find me doing 95% of my time.

For the rest of the time, I am going to share my discount with these other companies that I have joined because they have products that I love. I am not in them to make money or work it as a real business. You can go online and order but if you want a discount, then you have to contact me first.

This is the skin care that I have been using since Sensaria went under. I still use a few things here and there from other companies but for the most part I am using this product line. You will have to contact me so I can place the order with a discount for you.

Cameron vs Splendid

Have you checked out some of our new summer pieces from kika? I saved the best for last. I am in love with this skirt and I can see it as a summer staple. I like how breezy and cool skirts are to wear when it is hot outside. There were several maxi skirts with a side slit and stripes are a big thing too. This skirt from Splendid seemed the most similar and both are made in the USA. However, kika again wins in the color selection and the fact that our fabrics are made here in the USA too. Oh and the price is nice too. Which one would you choose?

Briana vs Michael Kors

Have you checked out some of our new summer pieces from kika? If you loved Portia from last season but maybe it was too long? You are going to love Briana! I also like the high/low hemline and it is very on trend. There were lots of dresses and skirts with this type of style but this one that I found from Michael Kors was the closest match. I like that Briana is a skirt AND a dress and while the price is a little more ... the fact that it comes in 10 colors plus a print makes that a non-issue. Which one would you choose?

Hayden vs Soft Joie

Have you checked out some of our new summer pieces from kika? If you loved Anastasia from last season, you are going to love Hayden! It is a new stripe fabric with the same dreaming drape and it comes in 10 colors. I like that the straps are more substantial so you can wear a racerback bra with it now. 

It was hard to find a good comparison item but I think I did okay. I like the chevron stripes of the kika item but they are both made in the USA. Which one would you choose?

Hem Your Own Kika Skirt

You may have read my other blog post on hemming your own kika pants so this one is just a follow up to that post. I am short and often many maxi skirts and pants are too long for me. What I like about kika is that you can hem your own stuff with a pair of scissors (or a rotary cutter). I am not home right now so I had to use scissors to hem my Cameron skirt. It is about 2 inches too long and I really want to wear it while I am in Sweden. I probably only cut off a little less than 2 inches as I wanted to make sure I didn't make it too short either.

I started off with only cutting a little off just in case I screwed it up and had to hem it with a sewing machine later. The trick was to go slow, have a really sharp pair of scissors and also have someone help you keep the fabric taught. I highly recommend a rotary cutter as it makes the whole thing so much easier but if you don't ... scissors will do just fine. Take a look!

Everyone Needs Kris

Oh wow! I ordered this top on a whim before I left for Sweden because I had some extra hostess credit to use and I thought I would try out this new summer piece. I wanted to get Priscilla which is basically an updated Pippa and I already had several in my closet. I knew I loved the material (same as another favorite of mine ... Paige) so I thought I would give it a try.

I am in LOVE! The material is so super soft and lightweight. I do feel it is a little see-through but I always wear a shaper and for this one a nude colored one works best. I love the little pocket on the front and the slightly longer hemline in the back. Pippa was an okay kind of basic t-shirt replacement but Kris is hands down my new go-to tee. I can't wait to order more!

It was another warm day today and it was the perfect weight material. Just enough to keep you warm when the wind was blowing but in the sun it was breathable and cool. Of course, I paired this with another favorite of mine ... Matchstick Capris. I am short so I need to roll them up a bit but I actually really like that look. What do you think?

Mel & Twill Capris

Another quick outfit here in Sweden featuring Mel tank top and my old Twill Capris from a few seasons ago. I like how Mel is just so easy to wear. It is an item that I think would work better with a racerback bra since I am not a huge fan of having the bra straps show. I always wear a shaper under my clothing and I found the straps peeked out now and then. Maybe that style is a fashion thing? I don't know. I just like that it is a bit longer and looser fitting. Plus, it is made from a blend that uses recycled water bottles. Cool and comfy!

I am also really happy that it is finally summer weather here in Sweden so I can wear my tank tops now! Today was almost 80F!

I am also wearing a new necklace I decided to buy. I like how it adds some color to my outfit and the piece is nice and substantial without being too fussy. Let me know what you think!

I brought some new kika items with me to Sweden so I will try to show off some outfits while I am here. Almost everything that I brought to Sweden is kika but I only like to show off the things that are still for sale. The tank top stripe matches the stripe on the Cameron skirt that I wore earlier. Cameron & Viv in Sweden

I am not sure how much time I will have to showcase outfits while I am here on vacation but I will try! The weather has been super chilly (in the 40's and 50's) so I haven't got to wear much summer clothing. I did put on this outfit for midsummer which I ended up having to put on leggings, two shirts and a sweater and I was still cold. I also didn't get good photos of just the tank and skirt so I will have to try again another day.
